A servant to ideals
"Goizueta Business School has a solid leadership foundation. That is ensured by the four main pillars that stand for our core business principles:"
- Truth, not jargon. Regardless of how specialized we are in our areas, we communicate in plain English. Our corporate partners and ourselves do not hide behind jargon. We speak plain English to encourage communication and cooperation within our organization.
- Account for accountability. Taking responsibility for one's actions and decisions is a crucial leadership feature. Our coaches work closely with aspiring young people to develop practical management skills.
- Honesty is the best corporate policy. We live by this principle, and we foster honesty in our students. They learn to be honest with themselves, with their teams, and with everybody else.
- If you don't like what you see, change where you stand. We strongly believe that leadership starts with identifying a problem. Taking on the responsibility to bring positive change creates leaders by choice.
Leadership is taught by example. For that reason, our colleagues started gathering 100 inspiring stories featuring leaders. The youth attending our business programs read the stories aligned with their interests. They engage in additional research; they start similar projects on a smaller scale. Simply put, young leaders draw inspiration and motivation to act by real-life examples. It turns out that everybody needs a hero.
The impact of the business leadership program is enormous. The youth are more malleable and prone to change. Former participants share their post-graduation success stories. We are proud to witness their initiative and involvement in NGOs and startups. That is the effect of healthy business principles and an effective business curriculum.
